Amy Lass is a certified family law specialist and experienced mediation services lawyer. Originally from New York, Amy’s family eventually moved to San Diego where she went on to graduate from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo in the early 2000s with a B.S. in Economics and a concentration in Enterprise Accounting.
Amy always wanted to open her own law practice. She went on to earn her law degree from Thomas Jefferson School of Law, where she graduated Cum Laude in 2006.
While attending Thomas Jefferson, Amy spent a summer abroad studying corporate constitutional law in Nice, France under Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg.
Back in the United States, Amy worked for several years at a prestigious law firm in San Diego, where she worked under several well-respected veterans in her field and gained valuable insight and experience in all aspects of family law.
Amy went on to become one of three founding partners of Griffith, Young & Lass, one of the largest family law firms in North County.
It took Amy several years of being involved in many high-conflict divorces, where she saw the damage that protracted litigation has on divorcing parties, particularly the children, before she realized her passion for mediation.
Furthermore, Amy is a parent and step-parent, so she is aware on a personal and professional level the challenges of living with divorce. Therefore, using professional mediation services, Amy works with her clients to find the best resolutions possible without the need for expensive and often time-consuming litigation.
At Fresh Start Mediation, Amy helps families move forward after separation and long after divorce has been granted in an amicable and civilized manner, all while allowing both parties to retain their financial resources.
When she’s not helping families through mediation, Amy enjoys spending time with her husband and children, as well as her extended family. Amy is also an avid fitness enthusiast and sports fan.
